Product Review: Birds Eye Voila! Meal

I know, I know...you always here it from everyone:

"I'm so busy, I barely have time to eat!"  "I'm so stressed...I don't have time to plan meals!"

Well, this product certainly can rescue you from the nights where you don't even want to think about cooking, especially if you didn't plan for it (the time thing, well, I can't do much about that...you are on your own).

But, I know you deserve to eat fresh quality ingredients that are already fixed for you.  You just have to dump, mix, heat, and serve!  Simple as that....and I'm all about simple.

This meal was simple.  Birds Eye makes many different varieties, from Chicken Parmesan to Shrimp Scampi so it was hard for me to decide.  I ended up with Cheddar Chicken Potato.  I was intrigued by the potato and the fresh looking broccoli on the package.  Usually, potato can get mushy and the broccoli can get soggy.  (I'd also had a hard day and wanted bacon...the sauce was cheddar bacon...so I was also enticed by that).  In the picture above and to the right, there is the sauce packet.  Here's an upclose version:

Love that it gives you allergens right up front...just in case you need to watch out for that.

The basic instructions are simple.  To prep on the stove, just get a large skillet, heat over medium heat, dump the contents of the bag and the sauce packet in, add 1/2 cup water, and just simmer for 10-11 minutes until heated through.

Simple.

Anyone has time for 10 minutes.  It was simple.  Here are some pics of it just as it went in:

The sauce just came right out of the package for me...it said for easier release run warm water over it...but I didn't need to....

Despite this being frozen, I was impressed with the food.  It was whole food....potatoes, onions, broccoli, white meat chicken.......and it looked so fresh!

And it came together so quickly!  In 10 minutes, I had dinner in my bowl.

Now, I must say...the product said it served 2.5.....but, it served 2 of us (which is great because it is just 2 of us).  So, if you have a family of 4, they have "Family Size" portions of the meal.

The cheese sauce was cheesy, but not overpowering.  The potatoes were delish...I was very surprised and impressed!  The broccoli was still crisp and it tasted fresh...as if I had really made it myself.  I added the pepper...I just love that stuff!

I was very glad to have this meal this week....just so quick and easy.  I'd definitely buy one again and use it, especially when the days are as crazy as mine have been these past few weeks!  It was filling to...I just served it with a quick bagged salad.  And in just 10 minutes time, you can have a meal on the table.

This meal also got my dog's approval, as she gobbled up the remnants of what was left in my bowl.

Now, I must disclose as a part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I received a free coupon for a bag of this meal in exchange for my post on this product.  But, the opinions are totally mine.

What do you do for quick and easy meals?

Enjoy!
See ya'll Monday!
